Wanderlust — following the urge to be somewhere else

This week’s Weekly Photo Challenge: WANDERLUST

April 2017

Perched on the high cliff edge of Wedding Cake Rock in Royal National Park on Sydney’s southern edge, two people enjoy the view into the blue Pacific.

It is wanderlust that brought them there but it is not a view destined to last. A large crack, the start of which is visible on the left edge of the photo, in the Triassic sandstone, laid down over 200 million years ago, will one day see the Rock part company with the cliff and join the jumble of boulders far below.

The photo

I made the photo with a Sony a6300 camera fitted with a Sony 18-105mm lens. ISO was on automatic.
