Wanderlust — following the urge to be somewhere else

This week’s Weekly Photo Challenge: WANDERLUST

APRIL 2017

It’s a warm Autumn Sunday in April and Fiona is ready for a trek along the northern cliffline of Royal National Park. Her destination is Marley Beach, one of the sandy enbayments that dot the sandstone cliffs.

It is only an eight kilometre walk and it is a popular one, passing through the coastal heathland that clings to the shallow soil of the cliffs. Marley Beach is a wide, curving crescent of yellow sand onto which the swells of the Pacific expend their energy.

For Fiona, getting out into the wild places gets her away from her work as a sustainability educator and in online systems development and maintenance. A pair of hiking shoes makes a welcome change from the keyboard, the weight of a pack on the back a change from educating adults.

The photo

I made the photo with a Sony a6300 camera with a Sony 18-105mm f4 lens. ISO was on automatic.
